The canvas is the linen or cotton fabric, which serves as a support for the painting. Most of the time, painters buy canvas with a blank primer, although some of the works on display are made on virgin canvas, without primer, giving a much more artisan and natural result.
The frame is the wooden frame that serves to fix the canvas. When transporting works of art, it is recommended to send the canvases rolled up without a frame, to avoid damaging the painting. Once the rolled canvas is received, any specialist can mount the canvas on the stretcher.
The self-assembly of the frame is NOT RECOMMENDED, to avoid wrinkles and imperfections in the paint.
The frame decorative of a painting is the piece that surrounds the work in order to protect or embellish it. None of the works that we present have a decorative frame. Some of the larger works have a small wooden frame to protect the corners and sides.
The supports of the works are:
- Canvas
- Board
- Paper
- cold pressed paper
