The three figures together symbolize the universe, life, death, the origin, the end, the full and the empty.

The circle is the perpetual, the eternal. from there all creatures arise.

The triangle is the principle that completes the circle. It is the circle manifesting and generating.

The square is generated from the triangle, which is the ten thousand beings, the perfect mutation.

Tao engenders one, one engenders two, two engenders three, three engenders ten thousand beings.
