In Alchemy the Unicorn is an allegory of the process of the union of the mundane spirit with the Holy Spirit. The union between Mercury and Christ.

Mercury has two forms, the red Lion and the white Unicorn. The Unicorn represents the wild, indomitable, free and spirited aspect of Mercury. It is the penetrating force of the spirit that adheres.

Its horn, which indicates its wild aspect, gives perfection, strength, life and purification to all things, and is also an antidote against all poisons.

On the one hand, the Unicorn shows us the wild primordial force, but on the other hand, the purity and penetrating force of the spirit.
