Selene is the personification of the moon in Greek mythology. She is a Titan, daughter of Hyperion and Thea. At first, her role is to be the deity of the moon, but she is later described as Artemis, daughter of Zeus and Pallas.

She is in charge of not leaving mortals in the dark when her brother Helios, the sun, goes down.
